'Ghalib' typeset trc. Handwritten bottom centre, 'Galib Bey Cha'lan/Colonel: Adviser to the Emir Abdullah/During the War, commander of Medina against the/Emir Abdullah.' Main colours: gold band to white head-dress, and gold in collar studs, pink lips, brown tones to face and belt, grey uniform, background yellow, fading into grey/green around edges.
p 107 [tr ed pp 127/8] - 'The Turks had come on with three battalions and a number of mule-mounted infantry and camelry. Their command was in the hands of Ghalib Bey, who handled his troops with great keenness, acting as he did under the eye of the Corps Commander.'
